IO Performance Selected to Represent Oceania at International Festival in Italy!

Launceston-based independent theatre company IO Performance has been invited to represent the Oceania region at the IN_visibile 7 festival in Trento, Italy this November, marking the company's international debut.

IO will perform their acclaimed work Wild Swimming as the closing act of the festival at Teatro San Marco on November 20, and will present four additional events across the festival weekend, including a creative methodology discussion, a physical theatre workshop, a theatrical street parade, and a special museum evening featuring Australian food tasting at METS in San Michele all'Adige.

Five members of the IO team will travel to Trento for the festival, with the trip supported by community fundraising and the company's ongoing commitment to creating bold, independent theatre from regional Tasmania.

"To be invited to represent our region on an international stage is something we never imagined when we started IO in a small Launceston venue nine years ago," said Co-Artistic Director Grace Roberts. "This is a milestone not just for our company, but for independent theatre in Tasmania."
